The ECB, FA and RFU have combined together to run a project in Cambridgeshire to try and improve multi use grass outfields for sports grounds.
The Grounds Association have been delivering the programme and the work and the pilot year has gone really well.
The scheme is open to all cricket, football and rugby union clubs in the county who wish to improve or have work carried out on their outfield (please note this is not for work on cricket squares - please go to the trailer hire page for this area).
The process is simple.....
- The Club/Parish Council need to contact Cambs Cricket or the Grounds Association to ask for an application form or download the form below.
- Once completed this is sent to the Grounds Association who will then contact you to arrange an initial visit and assessment.
- You will then receive a quote for the work required - from which you will select what your Club/Parish Council would like to have done or can afford to have done.
- Mel Pooley will then contact you to arrange a date to come and carry out the work (we are happy to receive work orders from Parish/Town Councils at this stage if needed).
- Once the work is completed, you will receive an invoice from Cambs Cricket to cover the agreed cost of the work.
- The Grounds Association will contact you to arrange a follow up meeting after 3-6 months to see how things are going.
The cost of the initial assessment is covered by the scheme and the Club/Council are only responsible for covering the cost of the work carried out.
An example list of prices for the works can be seen below.
