The C&HACO, in association with the CCA, have arranged a series of courses to cover some of the main laws and key elements of umpiring practice, which we think will benefit anyone playing cricket.
You are invited to attend any of the following courses
- Sunday 26th March 2.00pm at March Town Cricket Club
- Sunday 2nd April 2.00pm at Sawston & Babraham Cricket Club
- Sunday 16th April 2.00pm at Lode Cricket Club
- Thursday 20th April 7.00pm at Ex-Servicemen’s Club (Cambridge)
- Tuesday 25th April 7.00pm at Over & Willingham Cricket Club
All the sessions are free to attend and all attendees will be given a copy of the latest MCC Law Book.
Clubs that send at least three people will also be given a copy of the book ‘Tom Smith’s Cricket Umpiring & Scoring’, a comprehensive & informative guide
Each session will run for approximately two hours, with a mid-session break. Sessions will be interactive with an emphasis on participation and will be led by experienced umpire tutors

- Role of the umpire
- Signals and positioning
- No Ball, Wide Ball
- Appeals, Caught, LBW, Stumped, Run Out (including ‘Mankading’)
- Beamer & Bouncers
- Ground-Weather-Light
