Cambridgeshire Cricket is inviting new players to Cambridgeshire Cricket is inviting new players to express their interest in being observed for the 2025/2026 County Age Group (CAG) squads.

These squads offer access to high-level coaching, competitive fixtures, and a direct pathway into the county cricket structure.

📍 Who can apply? 
Girls and boys in school years 8 & 9 as of September 2025 (Under 13 & Under 14), who are not currently part of a County Age Group squad.

📆 Observation sessions:
Held across late August and September 2025.

📝 How to get involved:
Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) form by 6pm on Wednesday 31st July: by following the link in our bio and stories

⚠️ Please note: Current CAG players will be automatically considered for observation so do not need to complete the form.

To be eligible to play for Cambridgeshire Cricket your child must meet at least one of the following criteria…

🏏Born in the County
🏏In education in the County
🏏Live in the County
🏏Play cricket for a club in the County

☀️🏏 The sun shone and lots of great cricket ☀️🏏 The sun shone and lots of great cricket was played....

The U12’s, U13B Girls and U14’s were all in action

The 12’s were up against North Herts Area U12 in which the boys secured a thrilling victory. All the Cambridgeshire bowlers bowled tight lines with Dhruv D was the pick of the bowlers taking 4 wickets including a hat trick!

Cambridgeshire chased down the total with nearly 10 overs remaining, Dilan K smashing 74 off just 62 balls and handy contributions from Ted J & Eddie H

U13B Girls won the first match v’s Suffolk with Bani J and Imogen M creating a great partnership to chase down the total of 93 and bowing Anna B took 3 wickets. Maya S scored 51 runs retired in the second game where they set a total of 135.

In the next round of the ECB Cup Cambridgeshire U14 Boys met Cricket East Huntingdonshire. Skipper Neel K was pick of the bowlers with 3-18 off his 9 overs. Ferdie P got Cambridgeshire off to a strong start with a quick 45 & the captain starred with the bat too, making 65 not out, and seeing the home side win by 6 wickets with 9 overs to spare!

County Safeguarding Officer, Jamie Rice and Cricke County Safeguarding Officer, Jamie Rice and Cricket Development Officer, Neil Liversedge have just finished the 2nd of 2 "Check in Webinars" with Safeguarding Officers around Cambridgeshire.
Jamie lead the CSO's through the new Cricket Regulator Club Self Assessment, which will act as a useful barometer about where Clubs are and the issues they have.
There was then a discussion about Clubs reporting Low Level concerns.
Over 20 Club Safeguarding Officers took part in the webinars and we thank them for attending and their input.
