๐Ÿ Another triumphant weekend for our county age gr ๐Ÿ Another triumphant weekend for our county age group teams ๐Ÿ’™

Last Sunday saw the BU13, GU14 & BU14 in action with some excellent results.

๐Ÿ Boys U13 - Won by 5 wickets against Norfolk
- With George W taking an excellent 4/27 (8), and some strong batting performances from Ted (31), Oscar R (41*) and Aayan (31*) ๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿ Boys U14 - Played back-to-back T20 games v Lincolnshire at Babraham.
- Match 1 - won by 21runs - a strong batting partnership with half centuries from Etienne L and Sam B put the Cambridgeshire boys in a strong position for their bowlers, led by Evan M and Gabi H ๐Ÿ‘Š
- Match 2 - won by 6 wickets - the outcome was up in the air right until the last over but 3/7 from Monty S and a match saving 63* for Ivo PJ saw the Cambridgeshire boys take the win ๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐Ÿ Girls U14 travelled to Blunham Cricket Club for their match against Cricket East U15โ€™s - โ€˜A great day, very clinical. The girls put a lot in & got the rewards for itโ€™
- Match 1 - won by 8 wickets - Maya S scored an excellent 58* off 50, with Helena M narrowly missing out on a 50 score (49) ๐Ÿ‘
- Match 2 - won by 31 runs - Diya M finished the match 72* (off 55) and lots of tidy bowling shared amongst the players ๐Ÿซถ

As we head into half term next week there are lots of weekend & mid-week matches being played - so follow for more infoโ€ฆ 

First up - Sun 24th May - the following games are being played - GU13vNorfolk, GU14vNorfolk, BU13vLincolnshire, BU14vSussex, BU15vBuckinghamshire

๐Ÿ We are on the lookout for the next generation of cricket stars in Cambridgeshire and our open nomination process is now OPEN!

๐Ÿ If your child is aged U10, U11 or U12 (Years 5, 6, 7 as of Sept 2026) and has experience of playing cricket, the Cambridgeshire Talent Development Centre could be the perfect next step. 

๐Ÿ Our TDC programme offers expert coaching for boys and girls, who are passionate about cricket and hungry to improve; 

๐Ÿ Train with qualified, experienced coaches
๐Ÿ Build technical, tactical and physical skills
๐Ÿ Learn the game inside-out
๐Ÿ Be part of a driven & supportive cricket community

To be considered for a place in our TDC, players should:

๐Ÿ Have experience of playing cricket, and be keen to play (or transition to play) hard ball cricket during the 2026-2027 programme.

๐Ÿ Open observations will be held for all players who are NOT currently in one of our TDCโ€™s.

๐Ÿ Existing TDC players will automatically be filtered into the observation and selection process for the 2026-2027 season and therefore do not need to complete an expression of interest (EOI) form. 

โžก๏ธ PLEASE NOTE: You must complete the EOI by 6pm on Sunday 14th June 2026.

๐Ÿ Boys U13 played two T20 games vs. Suffolk at home. The boys bowled out the visitors for 97 in game 1 with Fred F-B, Louis M & Dilan K all taking 2 wickets. Tom Lance top scored with 45. 

In game 2, Eshaan K (47) & Dilan K (27) had an excellent partnership of 96. Cambridgeshire restricted the visitors to 104, so winning by 26 runs . A good day out for the boys albeit freezing cold!๐Ÿฅถ 
 
๐Ÿ Boys U14 were successful away at Woodbridge School against Suffolk, winning by 4 wickets - a great bowling performance from the U14โ€™s with pick of the bunch Hugo L 3-8 (off 3). Solid batting from Hugo L (34) and S Booty (24)
 
๐Ÿ Girls U14 - The girls & their supporters made the 240mile round trip to Holton-le Clay Cricket Club to face Lincolnshire. The bowlers were on fire with 5 wickets taken in the first 6 overs with Lincolnshire only managing to post 48 runs. Cambridgeshire girls secured 49 for 1 off 7.5 making for a very efficient innings! ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ’ช
 
๐Ÿ Boys U15 - Cambs took on first-class county, Leicestershire. The home team posted a strong 294-4 off their 45 overs . Despite an outstanding 188 unbeaten 3rd wicket partnership between Zach W (101*) and Neel K (87*) the visitors came up 26 runs short, finishing 268-2. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฉต
 
๐Ÿ Girls U16 - Won at home to Cricket East
The success was spread amongst the team with 5 players taking 2 wickets each. Diya M, playing up from the U14โ€™s batted superbly finishing on 87* ๐Ÿ‘
 
๐Ÿ The next County Age Group matches are Sunday 17th May with BU13 away to Norfolk, GU14 away against Cricket East & BU14 at home against Lincolnshire
