Cambridgeshire, Norfolk & Suffolk are coming toget Cambridgeshire, Norfolk & Suffolk are coming together to launch the Combined Counties S9s Disability Cricket Pathway 🏏🏏🏏

The combined counties team will be a representative team for players ages 12 and over with a disability, to play against other county sides. 

It all starts with the very first Combined Disability Pathway Training Session on March 1st! This open taster session & is your chance to be part of something exciting...

First session details...
📅 Sunday 1st March
⏰ 6-8pm
💷FREE to attend
📍Fenner’s Indoor cricket School, Cambridge - CB1 2ES
🅿️ On-street parking available. 
🏏Open to anyone from all three counties, aged 12+ with a disability who wants to play representative cricket.

This session is about:
➡️ Testing interest across the three counties
➡️ Identifying players ready for the next level
➡️ Building a competitive regional squad
➡️ Creating a clear pathway for disability cricket in our region

If you’ve got the passion and want to take your cricket further, this is your opportunity for you.

On Friday last week we had a great day at held cou On Friday last week we had a great day at held county table cricket competition🏏 

It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves and having the opportunity to play - if you’ve not heard of Table Cricket before it’s specially designed to give young people with a disability the chance to play and compete. 

Many thanks to @impingtonvc and their fantastic young leaders for hosting the day.

It's the day after Valentines and 20 coaches from It's the day after Valentines and 20 coaches from around Cambridgeshire gathered at Fenners Indoor School to share their love for the game and their passion to become better coaches by attending a Batting Masterclass led by Tom Huggins, Head Batting Coach at @essexcricket 

Tom took the participants through a series of drills around the basics of alignment, balance, weight transfer and decision making and then encouraged them to design their own drills.
A really enjoyable session enjoyed by all. We give our thanks to Tom for sharing his skills and knowledge delivered in a fun and engaging way.

🏏Qu: How did you first get into cricket?
Dan: through the 2005 Ashes series, watching Shane Warne & Freddie Flintoff

🏏Qu: What’s been a standout moment in your cricket journey so far?
Dan: Playing for the England mild-learning disability cricket team & captaining the development mild-learning England team! 🔥

🏏 Qu: What motivates you about being a community cricket coach in Cambridge?
Dan: I want everyone in Cambridgeshire to have access to cricket, to make sure it is a sport for everyone, & to help players reach their potential.

🏏 Qu: Who are your cricketing heroes & why?
Dan: Shane Warne  Adil Rashid - as a spinner myself, I wanted to watch them all the time and learn from them.

🏏 Qu: Which coach/teacher/mentor has most influenced your cricket journey the most?
Dan: Les Randall & Tom Flowers who gave me the opportunity and made the game so simple for me to learn and progress on through the England pathway. Pat Ward who has been a big part of my journey in disability cricket from the start, which has allowed me to experience opportunities such as playing on the Oval cricket ground.

🏏 Qu: What is something people might be surprised to learn about you?
Dan: I carried the Olympic torch in 2012, Jamie Oliver passed the flame on to me! 💙
