Cricket simply wouldn’t happen without volunteers. Cricket simply wouldn’t happen without volunteers...

This #nationalvolunteersweek, we’re celebrating the brilliant people who give their time, energy and passion to make cricket possible across Cambridgeshire🏏

From coaches inspiring the next generation and groundskeepers preparing pitches, to club organisers juggling fixtures and volunteers creating welcoming environments for everyone - your dedication is what keeps our game thriving.

💬 “I love volunteering for my club so I can give back to the club that introduced me to cricket at a young age, and hopefully inspire future generations to play.”

💬 “Volunteering is really important to me as it brings me great joy in seeing other people enjoy playing cricket, knowing I’ve been a small part of that.”

💬 “I volunteer as a way to give back to the sport I really enjoy and help create opportunities for others, especially women, to experience the game.”

Thank you to every volunteer across Cambridgeshire!

Tag a volunteer who deserves recognition and tell us why they make a difference to your club 💙

🏏 Women’s cricket doesn’t grow alone! Behind ever 🏏 Women’s cricket doesn’t grow alone!

Behind every thriving women’s & girls’ team are people championing the game, creating opportunities, and helping players succeed. Today, we’re celebrating the power of male allyship in cricket.

Male allyship is the consistent and intentional effort by men to support and advocate for gender equity and inclusion. In cricket, it means using your voice, skills and influence to help create a sport where everyone can thrive.

As we look to the future, we want a game where gender plays no part in whether you become a player, coach, umpire, scorer, volunteer or leader. A game where opportunities are open to everyone.

To all our male allies: thank you. Your support, advocacy and dedication are helping women’s cricket reach new heights 🙏
