A massive thank you to all the volunteers out there in our Cambridgeshire Clubs who have made 2025 a fantastic year and contributed towards some amazing memories.

Whether you are a committee member, coach, team manager, scorer, umpire, grounds keeper, maker of teas, puller of pints or just volunteer who just does what needs to be done “Thank You!” 🙏💙

11 players make a team, but it takes more, much more to make a club. There are so many jobs to do, and club volunteers are the life blood that make them happen, making our game inviting and inclusive to our communities.

We know that many clubs alrewdy have members working away preparing for the 2026 season. Thank You!

👀📣 The Cambridgeshire Cricket Winter Wonders Awards will be back in 2026 so look out for the nomination forms being made available in February and celebrate the work of your brilliant volunteers.

In the meantime we hope everyone has chance to enjoy Christmas with their family and friends and here’s to 2026 🎄

Every cricket match and training session should have a qualified First Aider present, our first aid course will help you make that happen.

Cambridgeshire Cricket is committed to supporting clubs and volunteers across the county, and in 2026 we’re offering two professionally led First Aid Courses with expert tutor Emma Walker. Suitable for anyone involved in the game, each course provides a recognised qualification with the British Lifesaving Society.

📆 Saturday 28th February 2026
📍Chatteris Cricket Club
🕣 9.30am-1pm

📢 Course 2
📅 Thursday 26th March 2026
📍Mill Lane Pavilion, Sawston
🕣 6.15pm - 9.45pm

Last night we proudly launched the Cambridgeshire

Last night we proudly launched the Cambridgeshire Cricket Strategy & County Wide Plan for 2025-2028, an evening marked by insight & shared ambition for the future of cricket across the country.

We were delighted to welcome committee representatives from more than 25 Cambridgeshire Clubs, a wide range of cricket providers, supporters and members of the ECB. After a warm welcome from Robert Benson, Deputy Chair of Cambridgeshire Cricket Board and the introduction of our key strategic priorities from Russell Doel, our Head of Cricket Operations, attendees joined discussions focused on three areas.

1️⃣ Women & Girls Participation
2️⃣ Talent Pathway
3️⃣ Inclusion – supporting clubs to thrive

The event showcased the commitment across our network to future-proof the game and ensure that both existing and new communities of cricketers can say: “Cricket is a Game for Me.”

Thank you to everyone who contributed their perspectives and expertise. We look forward to delivering this strategy together and strengthening cricket for generations to come.
