Talent Pathway plans announced for 2025-2026 season
Cambridgeshire Cricket is pleased to announce its plans for its talent pathways for boys and girls for the 2025-2026 season. These plans look to provide opportunities for as many players as possible to experience higher level coaching and matches alongside broader talent identification and player development. It is important to note that these plans are aligned to National ECB direction, recommendation, and funding.
County Age Group representative squads will be run at Under 13, Under 14, Under 15, Under 16, and Under 18 for boys, and at Under 13, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 for girls.
At Under 11 and Under 12 level, Talent Development Centres (TDCs) will be run for boys and girls – one to the north and one to the south of the County. These will not be recognised representative County squads.
Talent Development Centres
Open observation sessions will be held during August for all players who are not currently in one of our TDCs.
To Express an Interest (EOI) to be involved in an observation for one of these at Under 10, Under 11, or Under 12 for boys or girls (September 2025, school years 5, 6, 7) please complete the following EOI form link – https://forms.office.com/r/E3xi2eNctR – by 6.00 p.m. on Wednesday 9th July 2025.
Existing TDC players will automatically be filtered into the observation and selection process for 2025-2026 TDCs and, therefore, do not need to complete an EOI.
County Age Group squads
Open observation sessions will be held towards the end of August and through September for all players who are not currently in a County Age Group squad in 2025. Existing CAG players will automatically be filtered into the observation and selection process for 2025-2026 squads and, therefore, do not need to complete an EOI.
For Under 13 and Under 14 girls and boys (September 2025, school years 8 and 9), if you would like to be included in one of these observations please complete this EOI form – https://booking.ecb.co.uk/myXx19 by 6.00 p.m. on 31st July 2025. Once we receive an EOI from a player, we will have more of an opportunity to witness the interested player in action during the 2025 season too.
Players interested in being observed for the Boys’ Under 15, Under 16 and Under 18 squads and for the Girls’ Under 16 and Under 18 squads will be initially observed through a video and performance submission, more details of which can be found – Cambridgeshire Cricket – Video Nomination Process 20252026 .Players in all other boys’ and girls’ age groups will be observed in person.
We are hopeful of all squads being confirmed by mid-October which will allow an Autumn and Winter period of indoor specialist skill and squad sessions to commence soon after.
