Become a cricket umpire - learn from the best! On Become a cricket umpire - learn from the best!

On Sunday 12th April at Ely College, Gabi Brown, PCA Women’s Umpire of the Year 2025 will join the coaching team for our Women & Girls only umpiring course. 😁

The full-day course is designed to give new umpires the key skills, knowledge and confidence to stand as an umpire.👏

📣 If you book before March 31st you will receive back 50% of the course fee! 

What you will learn on the course...
✅ Understand the umpire’s role in the game
✅ Learn the basics of umpiring with confidence
✅ Master appeals and key dismissal decisions
✅ Communicate clearly with players & coaches
✅ Judge when it is safe (or not) to play!

This course is a mix of classroom and practical learning and also includes some e-learning prior to attending on the day. The course will be delivered by two active female umpires.

Minimum attendee age is 14.
The course is £70, but if you book before March 31st, you will receive back 50% of your booking fee. No prior experience of umpiring is required.

By the end of the course, you will have the confidence and skills to umpire within recreational cricket.

🏏ECB Girls Indoor Cricket County Finals🏏 Congratu 🏏ECB Girls Indoor Cricket County Finals🏏

Congratulations to The Perse who came out as winners of both the U13 and U15 ECB Girls Indoor Schools County Finals which took place on Monday 👏

A huge well done also to St. Bede’s (U13) and The Leys (U15) who finished as runners up 🥈 
 
Both the U13 and U15 competitions were of a really high standard and it was a wonderful day of competition, celebrating the continued growth of girls school cricket 🏏 
 
We wish The Perse all the best as they progress to represent Cambridgeshire in the South & East Regional Finals in a few months time 🏆

From coaching, scoring and umpiring, to playing, organising and working tirelessly behind the scenes, women across the county are helping the game grow every single day.

The combined counties team will be a representative team for players ages 12 and over with a disability, to play against other county sides. 

It all starts with the very first Combined Disability Pathway Training Session on March 1st! This open taster session & is your chance to be part of something exciting...

📍Fenner’s Indoor cricket School, Cambridge - CB1 2ES

On Friday last week we had a great day at held cou On Friday last week we had a great day at held county table cricket competition🏏 

It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves and having the opportunity to play - if you’ve not heard of Table Cricket before it’s specially designed to give young people with a disability the chance to play and compete. 

Many thanks to @impingtonvc and their fantastic young leaders for hosting the day.

It's the day after Valentines and 20 coaches from It's the day after Valentines and 20 coaches from around Cambridgeshire gathered at Fenners Indoor School to share their love for the game and their passion to become better coaches by attending a Batting Masterclass led by Tom Huggins, Head Batting Coach at @essexcricket 

Tom took the participants through a series of drills around the basics of alignment, balance, weight transfer and decision making and then encouraged them to design their own drills.
A really enjoyable session enjoyed by all. We give our thanks to Tom for sharing his skills and knowledge delivered in a fun and engaging way.
