🏏 The art of better pitches... Last week, 15+ 🏏 The art of better pitches...

Last week, 15+ members of the Cambridgeshire Cricket Grounds Association met at @cherryhintoncc. With the current ☀️and high temperatures, good watering 💧 procedures to help produce better wickets was the hot topic, as well as mid-season repairs.

Huge thanks to Pitch Advisor Wayne Hardy for leading an incredible session 🙌

💭The overnight watering was the biggest take away for me.” - Simon W

💭 Now I know why I can’t ever get temporary repairs to work. These sessions are a real bonus - Rob L.

If you or your club have not attended one of these meetings or are not yet a member of the Cambridgeshire Cricket Grounds Association WhatsApp group it’s time you joined.

🏏 Match report… It was due to be a busy weeke 🏏 Match report… It was due to be a busy weekend of cricket for our county age group teams! 🏏

Unfortunately, the weather had other ideas on Sunday, with match after match called off due to rain! 🌧️

The U13B’s managed 14 overs of their innings, scoring 84 before the rain stopped play. They kept their spirits up hanging out as a team before the match was abandoned!

The U14’s didn’t get to play much before the clouds rolled in and the rain poured down! Always sad to see a rainy, empty pitch!

Hopefully the teams will fare better next weekend! The forecast is for ☀️🌞🌤️
Fingers crossed it stays that way!
